Doctor's update

I had my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. They almost gave me a clean bill of health. I have to be on the oxygen only when I am sleeping. They can come and pick up the machine and travel bottle on Friday. I am also free to wander around now. They wanted me to stay inside for a while but I told myself to get better and I did.

So this weekend, we might try to get to the zoo if the weather is nice. If not, there is alwasys the breakfast food at the Cherry Creek mall. But that might be where I got my cold and RSV to begin with. Guess, I will just have to wash my hands alot over the next couple of days.

Bye for now.....

Finally.....

"Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, I am free at last" MLK and Mason
So I finally got to come home today on a couple on conditions. I have to have O2 while I am sleeping and I cant go out in public for another week. At least I am cooped up in my own house, with places to walk, places to play and carpet instead of cold tile floors.

So Mom and Dad brought me home and I promptly played with all of my toys, took all my clothes out of the dresser and threw them on the floor and then took about a 30 minute nap before dinner. Mom and Dad stayed home with me most of the day. Dad had to go grocery shopping and pick up food and my medicine. Mom went and got dinner for us tonight.

I do have to go to the doctor's office on Tuesday to make sure I am still doing ok. Mom and Dad are off on Monday for Presidents Day so I get to spend some more time with them. I will try to be better at updating my blog in the coming weeks.

Not getting out yet...but I might be close

Well, since my O2 dropped again, I am still here. The doctor came in about 9am today and let us know that it would probably be best to stay 1 more night here. Mom and Dad want to do what is best for me but I know that they are tired of this place also. Mom has been sleeping in the bed with me and Dad has be sleeping in the reclining chair and I hear him talk about how bad it hurts his back.

So I had a new nurse today, we will call her Nurse Ratched. She laid down the law on how and what were are supposed to do. Which is funny, since nobody else has told us what to do. After she left, Dad was not happy and went home to take care of the dogs. Mom found it very amusing that we might have been spreading the RSV virus but nobody had told us any different. With the shift change came a new nurse and she was much happier and easier to deal with. Hopefully, we will be going home tomorrow and I can roam the house and hang out with my doggies.

More news as it becomes available

I might never get out of here

So my O2 level was great last night and I thought we were all coming home today. But alas, it dropped overnight and I had to be put back on oxygen while sleeping and the doctors want me to stay again tonight.

I live like a caged animal, really, check out the pics of the crib/bed that they gave me. I hope to be coming home on Saturday at this point. The doctor said that it takes 3-5 days to get everything out of me.....Saturday will be day 4.

I think Thin Lizzy put it best with this:

Tonight theres gonna be a jailbreak
Somewhere in the town
Tonight theres gonna be a jailbreak
So dont you be around

Hope to have another update tomorrow from the house. Thanks for all the emails from everyone!!!

My first hospital stay since I was born

Well, it has been a while since I have updated my blog. Since my birthday party, we have celebrated Dad’s birthday. I had a short conversation with Bronco’s head coach Mike Shanahan at the new Irish pub, watched one of the best Super Bowls ever (I have only seen 2 though) and now have spent the last few days in the hospital with RSV.

I started to feel bad on Monday night. I had a slight cough and started to feel tired. By Tuesday, I was really sluggish and did not want to nap, eat or do anything. Tuesday night I did not want to sleep and used Mommy and Daddy as kicking and punching bags all night.

Granny finally took me to the doctor’s office Wed morning because I did not want to eat, drink or nap. Daddy met us at the office and then we rushed over to Rose Medical Center, the same place I was born at, and was admitted. There are a couple of other kids here with the same thing.

So now, what is RSV? I found this on wikipedia and I have a very mild case. I have been on oxygen since I got here. The nurses keep coming in and waking me up with pokes and prods. I have been on a couple of different medications since I got here also.

So all day Thursday, I was on O2 until my afternoon nap. The nurse came in and turned it off and I have been off of it ever since. They want to make sure that it stays between 89-91 and it has for most of the night. I am tethered to the oxygen meter on my big toe though. Mom and Dad had a nice Valentines Day dinner of Anthony’s Pizza and Boston Market.

Now that I am up and walking in the room, I really want to go home. I don’t like the bed, the small space and miss my doggies. I hope to be going home Friday. And I almost forgot, I have my first 2 molers coming in and my teeth hurt alot.
When I know more, I will try to update my blog again. Bye for now
