The "Mason Plague"

I hate being sick!!! I must have picked something up at the hospital while visiting Mom and Grant. Since Wednesday night, I have had an upset stomach, throwing up and having the runs.

Down at Grandma and Grandpa Brady's, on Wednesday night, I got sick on their new rug, in their bed and on them. I had a couple of changes of clothes while I was there. Grandpa even had to call Mom and Dad to see what size diapers that I needed since I had gone through them all.

So when Grandma and Grandpa brought me back on the next day, Mom, Dad and Grant were at Childrens and so was Grandma and Grandpa Visscher, Aunt Kristy and Grandma Linda. I went home that night with Dad and was fine. But Friday was a whole 'nother story.

Dad was feeling a bit queasy during the day and came home early from the hospital. I decided that I was still sick and promptly threw up 3 times at home and changed sleepy clothes 4 times and the sheets on my bed. After that, Dad let me sleep with him and I was fine.

Now today for Grants surgery, Grandpa Brady is still at home being sick. Grammy and Poppie are at home, both being sick, Aunt Kristy had to give up her skiing trip on the last weekend the slopes are open since she is sick and Granny is staying with me at the house and she is really sick.

I have now created my own sickness......The Mason Plague!!!!

So now I cant see Mom and I miss her alot. I had Dad call her on the cell phone so I could say hi and hear her voice. Hopefully when they move Grant to the 9th floor, I can go up and spend some time with her.

I have a baby brother now

So on Tuesday, I now have a new baby brother. At 5:57pm Grant Lars was born at the same hospital, in the same OR room that I was. He weighted 6.05 pounds and was 18 inches long. He was cleaned up after saying hi to Mom and then off to the NICU where he will be while Mom recoups in her room. We can go see him anytime we want since it is open 24 hrs.

We already knew that he was going to have some heart issues with the coarctation of the aorta and he will need to have surgery. So our cardiologist was able to take a scan at here at Rose and we will be off to Children's Hospital on Thursday of this week.

According to Dr. Carrie, he is going to need to have the tougher of the 2 surgeries and need to have open heart surgery and put on a bypass machine. That surgery is going to take about 5 hours or so. After that the recovery time is going to be a couple of weeks. So Mom and Dad will be travelling back and forth from the house to the hospital.

I am staying at the house with my dogs and Granny. I am also staying with Grandma, Gramdpa and Partner down in Parker. I hope to get out and stay with Grammy and Poppie since they just got home from Mexico.

Mom and Dad will be going back and forth from Childrens Hospital to home. It is only 20 minutes away from the house. Only one of them can stay in the NICU there so it appears that Dad will be coming home each night. Soon Grant will have his own website so he wont be using mine all the time.

I will be happy when he get's to come home though.....
